Do you have YOUR card yet?
Students at Dunbar Hill School recently rose to a challenge presented by the Hamden Public Library: every student should have the ‘Smartest Card’—a library card. During March and April children who attend Dunbar Hill School were given the opportunity to get a public library card through a cooperative program between the elementary school and the public library initiated by Library Director, Bob Gualtieri and facilitated by school library media specialist, Virginia DeMeola. Nearly one hundred new cards were issued to students, while many others were renewed and updated without children and their parents making a trip to the library. Miss Wong’s fourth grade class was the first to complete the project so that all students in the class had their own library card. Students at Dunbar Hill School are now ready for a great summer of reading at any of the Hamden public library locations.
