P.L.A.C.E. Multicultural Festival - Oct. 2


P.L.A.C.E. Children's Museum and Creative Arts Center will be holding its 4th Annual Multicultural Festival at Hamden Town Center park on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10-4. Activities will include multicultural performances, art projects, a moonbounce, costume characters, food and more. Music, dance, art, play and fun for all ages. Admission is free. Rain location is Hamden Middle School.
And don't forgot, the Miller Library will be open 10-5:30 on Saturday, so don't forget to stop by after you've visted the festival!

Hamden Restaurant Week, September 20-26

The Hamden Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Hamden are pleased to announce the first Hamden Restaurant Week, Monday, September 20th through Sunday, September 26th. Local restaurants are offering a variety of discount options, including $12 prix fixe lunches, $20 prix fixe dinners, or buy one get one free specials. Participating locations include:

Hamden's Earth Day Celebration

Hamden's 2010 Earth Day Celebration will be held on April 24th from 10am - 3pm at the Hamden Middle School at 2623 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden. This year's family oriented celebration will feature: over 30 exhibitors promoting earth friendly services and products, organizations, school exhibits including recycled art/sculptures, Long Island Sound – Past, Present & Future, Ecological Footprints of the World, Worm Composting Display, Fashion and Style The Recycled Way, Sounds to Save the Planet, and more!

Over a dozen FREE ACTIVITIES will be offered including face painting, a scavenger hunt, wood making projects, decoupage water bottle vases, bookmarks and books for children, a coloring contest, energy footprint project, recycling games and more!

Entertainment will be provided by Dr. Mel Goldstein from WTNH Channel 8 Weather, “Clink the Clown”, T-Bone's Recycling Assembly Show, and Wind over Wings (including a Golden Eagle), C.J. May's Magic Show and the Hamden High School Reptile Show.

Come to Hamden’s Earth Day Event to learn how our individual efforts can really have an impact on global warming, find out simple things you can do personally to help solve the climate crisis and learn how our choices impact the global environment. We can each make a difference by educating ourselves on what we can do to minimize our waste and resources.

New Haven Symphony Comes to Hamden

The New Haven Symphony Orchestra will be performing their Holiday Extravaganza concert on Saturday, December 12 at 7:30 PM at Hamden Middle School. This NHSO Pops! perfomance will have you singing and tingling with anticipation for the season of good cheer!

Bring a donation of non-perishable food items to support The Junior League of Greater New Haven's Hunger Awareness Committee and Connecticut Food Bank and receive a voucher good for a discount toward the NHSO's Valentine's Pops Concert.
